Community Fire Company of Rising Sun Inc

Shortly after 2AM on February 22nd, CFCRS along with Station 3 Singerly, Chester County Station 21 Oxford, and Paramedic One, was alerted for a House Fire in the 600 block of Dr. Miller Road. Chief 8, along with Assistant 18 responded shortly after dispatch. Chief 8 was advised by Dispatch that they had received numerous calls of a working House Fire. Upon arrival of Chief 8, he confirmed a working 2 story dwelling fire, and requested an Engine and Tanker out of Station 4 North East. Engine 18 was the first suppression piece to arrive and quickly deployed two 1³/₄ hand lines to protect a detached garage near the house. Engine 812 was the second arriving piece and laid a supply line down the driveway, the crew from Engine 812 then setup a supply line to Engine 18 and deployed a 2¹/₂ hand line from Engine 18 to the house to start suppression. Truck 8 arrived next and positioned in the driveway for a ladder-pipe operation. At the same time Tanker 8 was hooking up to the supply line laid by Engine 812 to supply the two Engines down the lane until a tanker shuttle could be setup. Upon arrival, Chester County Engine 21-2 took over supply the line laid by 812, and drafted out of Tanker 21. Engine 28 was sent to the creek further down Dr. Miller to setup a draft site to fill tankers, which were pumping their water into Tanker 21. Once a Tanker shuttle was established the hand lines were put out of service and Truck 8 took over ladder pipe operations to finish extinguishing the fire. Crews worked for almost 4 hours to contain the blaze.
